Well, the whole tarot promotion project has obviously been on hold for some while now - I just never seem to get any time. However, it will be continued. I have a new website that I'm working on (on and off), along with a revised edition of all the rules.

Progress in little baby steps. At last, there is a forum. It doesn't look like much now but it will. In the mean time, the default style will have to do. Please drop by and take a look. Say what you like, what you don't like, and please, any mistakes in the text or areas that need more clarity. At last, a candidate for replacement of the old book cover. I think it's looking nice - let me know your thoughts. You should find a few more card reviews on the site since last time, a particularly good one to check is the Tarot des Fleur! I have started on work for to add some more games, including, if I can make sense of the garbled babel fish t

OK. The web site is now looking a little better with a few graphics and a colour scheme that I'm happy with at last. The front page needs a little re-working I feel but it will do for now. I have finally posted a selection of links and reviews of cards suitable for play along with links to stores where you can buy them - on both sides of the pond! The little flash galleries for each pack are giving me a some problems though. I used Motion Artist 4 to quickly put them together but the pre-loader doesn't seem to work for Internet Explorer, it does work with Firefox but then Firefox doesn't seem to loop the flash properly! With all the little

Hey.... tracked you to dA just to say that tarocchino.com is down. :(
Hi, I'm afraid that I've not been very active on the internet for a long time now - life has just been a little messy and I've let a lot of stuff go. The Tarocchino domain sadly didn't get renewed in time and is now something I'll have to give up on.

However, the project of presenting tarot games is back underway, with all the accounts being re-written to some extent, further standardizing conventions of play and Anglicizing their language. I can't say just how soon that will come to fruition but I have decided to give priority to an offshoot project.

I've discovered that about a year ago, a UK based games design company (River Horse) published a new tarot pack called The Tarot of Loka - it is an interesting fusion of traditional themes, modern playing card design, and fantasy elements that relate it to their chess variant, also called Loka. Best of all, it is being marketed for game play!

Although produced to a very high standard, the little booklet that comes with the Loka includes very little by way games. wishing to support an effort like this, albeit a little late in the day, I have decided to re-write a good selection of the games referring specifically to these cards. This is coming along nicely and I plan to post them to a blog of some kind before formatting them for free download ebooks and print (as per my previous effort any Print-On-Demand editions will have a not-for-profit price and the pdf will be available should anyone know of a cheaper printer they would rather use).

Once I'm back on the main project, I'll also start by posting the different accounts on a blog - just in case anyone wants to help out by spotting my mistakes (it never fails to amaze me how hard it is to error check my own work - its as if my brain is reading what it expects to be there instead of what is actually on the page). Once I'm happy with it, then again, I'll start formatting it for people to download.
Happy to hear about your ongoing projects! I just recently got my first smartphone and stumbled upon a decent French Tarot game on the Play Store, which made me want to pull up your site again. I'll look into the Loka deck too.
Hi,

I think I know the program you mean. I used to enjoy the tarot game on Hoyle's but that software seems to have died a death now.

I've made a start on the adapting my project for the Loka cards, though I suppose it could be used almost as it is for other packs (save for the Loka's extra cards). In my main project I shall be using irrational ranking, and the Angel high - just because they are quirks that I enjoy. However, I might still use some of the simplified scoring as this is an aspect that seems to put some players off.

If you are interested, here's the blog, though I'm afraid that it is still a little rough and ready...

By the way, I love your style--gives it a nice weathered and aged look!
